Mission Statement and Theater Goals
MISSION STATEMENT:
The Naugatuck Teen Theater is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the theatrical development of area middle and high school students. Participants are given a wide range of opportunities to cultivate and enhance their talents in front of an audience and behind the scenes. This is accomplished in an encouraging, stimulating and supportive environment culminating in a quality musical theatrical production.

THEATER GOALS:
- To increase the student's understanding of and appreciation for the theater.
- To help students enhance skills such as self-confidence, teamwork, goal setting, commitment and creativity.
- To acquire and maintain the resources necessary to ensure artistic and financial integrity and longevity.
- To provide a wide spectrum of educational and hands-on opportunities.
- To encourage parental commitment, support, camaraderie and volunteerism.
- To stimulate, challenge, entertain and inspire both the participants and the audience.
HISTORY:
The Naugatuck Teen Theater was founded in 1994. Now heading into it’s 12th season, approximately 485 teens have participated in this dynamic program that continues to grow each year. For the last two seasons Nauagtuck Teen Theater has done a fall production drama or comedy and their traditional spring musical. The idea of the Teen Theater grew out of a St. Michael’s Episcopal Church Naugatuck, Vestry (governing body) Retreat that was looking for ways to provide more “out reach to the community”. This is a no-profit organization open to all area teens.

“Makin It” “Guys and Dolls” “The Life and Death of Almost Everybody” and this years spring musical “Pirates of Penzance” For the fall 2006 NTT will be doing “Our Town” and in the spring of 2007 NTT will be doing “Once Upon A Mattress” Auditions for the fall will be announced at a later date.
