Eligibility and Rules
1. There are no age restrictions for this contest.
2. Photography entries must be the original work of the entrant and reflect the contest theme of Winter in Naugatuck. Subject matter must be recognizable/verifiable as an area of Naugatuck (no portraits please). Entries must be in print format 5x7 or 8x10 on photo paper and matted. Additionally a digital file must be submitted. Eligible participants may submit up to a total of 3 photographs. Photos CANNOT be digitally enhanced (e.g, Photo Shop, etc). Entries suspected of being digitally altered will be disqualified.
3. Each participant entry must carry on the reverse side of photo:
a. title of work
b. complete name of photographer
c. description of photograph
4. All entries must be accompanied by an official entry form, completed and signed by the entrant and parent (if a minor).
5. By signing the entry form and submitting it, entrants are agreeing to grant the Naugatuck Arts Commission license for use of the photographs in displays related to the contest and in printed and electronic publications. The entrant will be fully credited in all such displays and publications. Photographs become the property of the Naugatuck Arts Commission.
6. 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and an indefinite number of “honorable mention” awards will be made. One award per entrant maximum.
7. Entries will be judged on artistic expression, creativity and originality, and the quality of the image. All decisions of the judges are final. The contest organizers reserve the right to disqualify entries which do not conform to the stated contest rules and criteria or are of an inappropriate nature.
8. Deadline for entries: March 24, 2008*. Photos will be displayed and judged at a location and date to be determined.
